General Guidelines
To enable us fully to edit a file, we prefer eps files with all linked files and fonts included (To ensure this, use the File/Package command in Illustrator or InDesign). All linked bitmaps must be flat files and 100-150 dpi at the final print size.
Photographic Images
(raster/bitmap)
Images need to be fully set up, with bleed and crop marks, ready for output as we will be restricted to performing only Photoshop editing on files saved this way. We recommend bitmaps be flat TIFFs with LZW compression / 100-150 dpi at the final print size. Print quality will suffer below this specification.
Placing a low-quality raster image into an eps file does nothing to improve its quality.
Color matching requires Pantone colors to be specified within the files.
Projects that involve router or vinyl cutting require files in vector format.
Assume any images copied off a webpage will not deliver the quality needed for large-format printing.
If files are not supplied as requested above and require extensive color matching and/or another editing, additional setup fees and time delays may be incurred.
Microsoft Office files are not preferred and, if submitted, will incur unpredictable setup surcharges, editing will be limited on our part, and the quality of the output cannot be assured.
We cannot open Microsoft Publisher documents. (a page-layout program included in some versions of MS Office)
Publisher files must be supplied (saved/exported) as an eps with all fonts outlined and linked files embedded. Unpredictable setup surcharges may be incurred, editing will be limited on our part, and the quality of the output cannot be assured.
We do not support Corel Draw. If you are using Corel Draw please save files as EPS with outlined fonts and all linked files embedded. Extra setup charges may apply and editing could be limited. All linked bitmaps must be flat files and 100-150 dpi at the final print size.
